Dogs attract fleas
Immature flea larvae attach themselves to dust particles in and under your house. They lay in wait for vibration and warmth from a warm blooded mammal to trigger the emergence of the adult stage.
The adult stage have large back legs that are enormous in relation to the size of the front legs and body. They use these large back legs to jump high onto passing victims.
